I'll be sure to get some pictures of Emily wearing it on her wedding day!
How is it already the end of July?! Never the less, summer as been so amazing here! It's been super hot and the lake is refreshing.

We're happy to report that Emily has finished her Wedding Shawl and is knee deep in wedding preparations. We will soon be getting our crafternoon on to finish up some of the fine details of the décor.

I finally finished my Colour Affection Shawl, my Cable Gloves and the Sunnies Case from the last post. The Sunnies case we will be using in our Learn to Knit classes this fall and I've added a cute inside pocket for your ID and debit cards. So handy!

Now that the heave Colour Affection is out of the way, I've moved on to some lighter summer knitting.
On my needles know is a pair of socks for my Grandpa. He's 90 and loves his hand knit socks. I knit socks two at a time using magic loop and usually from the toe up. I like toe up because you can knit your toes and use that as a gauge swatch and from that do your calculations. I reach for Toe-Up 2-at-a-time every time I do socks, it's a great reference. I'm also working on Bad Oyster but that is a whole other blog post. I'll leave you with this for now, happy knitting! -Karla

I'm happy to report I only have three projects current on the needles.

The first project is Colour Affection in worsted weight yarn. I dove into my stash for this one and was pleasantly surprised to have the required yardage in each colour. I'm so happy how it's coming out. It's going to large and squishy and amazing. I have, however, put it on the back burner because it's a awful lot of garter stitch... hopefully I can finish it up soon

Project #2 is for Summer Knit Camp! Participants will be learning to knit by making a sunglasses/beach treasure bag. We will be learning to cast on, knit and purl stitches, button holes, decreasing (left and right leaning), cast off and seaming! All of that knitting goodness is only $25!

I'm hoping to have time for a duplicate stitch tutorial to really fancy it up but if that doesn't happen I will at lease have an online tutorial available on out knitting resources board on pinterest.

If you're interested in Summer Knit Camp, please contact us to save your spot!

Finally my gloves.

I am so in love with this gloves. The cliche "fits like a glove" does not even begin to relay my love. They are a Drops Design Glove and although the pattern was written to sell yarn it isn't too bad to follow.

I originally planned to make them for a friend and found some alpaca (locally grown) in my stash. But once I started knitting them and trying them on as I went along, I knew I had to keep them. Don't worry, my friend will be getting another gift but now I'm thinking Honey Cowl. Hopefully I won't want to keep that one too!
