Wow, things are progressing. I am in full baby knitting mode. I have finished my "if it's a girl" cardigan, and I have finished the knitting on my "if it's a boy" cardigan. I still have to do some finishing work on the boy cardigan, but I hope to get that done this week.

Last night at knit night I cast on for the Pop blanket. I finished two squares. I think I'm going to need at least 30. I am hoping they will get progressively faster as I go. The pattern is pretty intuitive and I should have it memorized in no time.

All of this baby knitting, and a trip to A Twist of Yarn in Vernon, made me start wondering what I'm going to knit after baby arrives. I know my life will be getting just a little more hectic so I need to keep it simple. I would also like to be able to use at least a little something from my stash. I've settled on Itineris by Hilary Smith Callis. It looks like it's done mostly in stockinette stitch and should be a pretty low key knit. Plus, it looks awesome!

So I propose you knit it with me! We will start September 1, and aim to finish for September 30. You'll have to buy a copy of the pattern (It's $5.50 CAD on Ravelry) and make sure you have enough yarn. After that, you've just got to get your knit on. We would love to see photos of your progress along the way, or even better, have you show us in person at Knit Night!

So.... Who's knitting with me?

I'll be sure to get some pictures of Emily wearing it on her wedding day!
How is it already the end of July?! Never the less, summer as been so amazing here! It's been super hot and the lake is refreshing.

We're happy to report that Emily has finished her Wedding Shawl and is knee deep in wedding preparations. We will soon be getting our crafternoon on to finish up some of the fine details of the décor.

I finally finished my Colour Affection Shawl, my Cable Gloves and the Sunnies Case from the last post. The Sunnies case we will be using in our Learn to Knit classes this fall and I've added a cute inside pocket for your ID and debit cards. So handy!

Now that the heave Colour Affection is out of the way, I've moved on to some lighter summer knitting.
On my needles know is a pair of socks for my Grandpa. He's 90 and loves his hand knit socks. I knit socks two at a time using magic loop and usually from the toe up. I like toe up because you can knit your toes and use that as a gauge swatch and from that do your calculations. I reach for Toe-Up 2-at-a-time every time I do socks, it's a great reference. I'm also working on Bad Oyster but that is a whole other blog post. I'll leave you with this for now, happy knitting! -Karla
